Mission Statement

The mission of the DHCDC Parents’ Council is to provide emotional and financial support for the DHCDC staff and teachers in their efforts to create the best learning and nurturing environment for our children.

The Parents’ Council focuses on small fundraising events, teacher appreciation efforts and support for the administration. Such support may be in the form of a monetary donation to the Teacher’s Bonus Fund at the holiday time, a Valentine appreciation lunch, supplements to classroom supplies, or a parent workday once or twice a year. The Council may also act as a liaison between parents and the administration. The Council is made up of specific parent volunteers who act as Room Parents and chairs of various events/projects for the extent of the school year, with the anticipation that all parents will become involved during the year depending on their abilities and desires.
